Who remembers the game Creatures?! Y'ALL BETTER. It is probably one of the best games ever created. The last add on pack was released in 2001 and there's still people talking about and creating new content for the game everyday, even if Gameware Development ignores them. The 'official' forums are down, the download link is down, but you know what? The Creatures community presses on! Every year there's an online festival hosted where new user-created content is released. Be they new toys for the norns, new metarooms, stories, art, you name it.

Basically, I want everyone to visit the site and consider downloading/purchasing Creatures. There are three games you have to purchase, and the add on (Docking Station) is free and is like a smaller version of Creatures 3. If you want to buy the games, check out eBay. Or get it other, uh, ways. EITHER WAY YOU GOTTA PLAY IT IS IS SO GOOD

The 'game' (it isn't a game in the traditional sense, let me make that clear) revolves around raising small furry creatures called 'norns' to adulthood and exploring the world they live in. In the third game/Docking Station, however, they live in space. You still get to explore, though!

What makes it BRILLIANT is the genetics and inner workings of these adorable little computer ewoks. Creatures simulates life so genuinely that one self-proclaimed 'norn-torturer' got an insane amount of hate mail, most of which comparing him to an animal abuser, among other unsavory things. Creatures will make you belive that there are animals living inside your computer. This is no Petz copycat, lemme tell ya. It even came out BEFORE Petz, if I remember correctly.

This game is so awesome I could just go on FOREVER. There are two other species of creatures to raise (Grendels and Ettins), different breeds of norn, places to investigate, things to do, myths to unravel! HERE HAVE SOME LINKS!:
